Second Saturday in December

We had our first Blitz at the new location.  The ladies were amazing working in the smaller venue.  They managed without having a large table and those topsy turvy chairs.  You probably won't be hearing me tell you to be careful in these chairs.  Although you may need to bring your chair cushions.  The table can only seat six comfortably.  So the classes will be much smaller.  It sure makes it cozy.

Tomorrow is the group meeting at First Presbyterian Church in Lake City.  You can get to the parking lot by turning onto Lakeview from either Baya or US 90. After parking go to the last building.  You will probably hear us having a good time. The time is 10:00 - 3:00.  You can bring any project you want to work on. Christmas is coming so it will be a great time to finish those projects.

Smile's 'til I see you.

Tribute to Prissy

Today I said good-bye to our little shop buddy.  The first time you saw her was this picture I posted on the blog.

I remember her as that skinny little puppy at the pet store.  She only weighed 2 and 1/2 lbs.  I just could not leave her after picking her up and that little tail began to wag.  She had such a happy little heart. Riding home I held her in the palm of my hand while Rhett tried to reach over the seat to check her out.  He was such a good buddy to her.  He often acted like a little Mother to her.

This a picture with my nephew when she could sit on a little brick.

Here is an early shot of Rhett and Prissy fresh from the groomers wearing their Christmas colors.  What a pair they were.

When I worked for my friends I would take her to the office.  Often I would stop for coffee and a bagel at my favorite coffee spot.  Well here is how she enjoyed those take out boxes.

Before I started taking her to the shop she would wait for me at the front door.

But her favorite spot was to be outside in the sunshine.
And of course you all know what antics she would do at the shop.  She helped herself to whatever snack you had in your bags.  Sometimes that snack was close to money that was tossed aside so she could get to the food.  You often did not remember you had anything in your bags to eat but Miss Priss sure could track it down.  And when we would pray before our luncheons she could help us out.
And those darn garbage cans....

I sure will miss those endearing antics and all that unconditional love she gave me.  She was a little lady all the way. I'll miss that happy little tail a wagging.  Those demanding barks for her favorite french fry.  She used to be a cuddly bed partner until her eyes got so bad she was afraid of falling off the bed.  But she would let me hold and cuddle her.

I took this shot last week as I decorated the Christmas tree. Even though she had three beds around the house she just had to dig her a bed under the tree near me.

Thank you Prissy for sixteen years filled with a few tears and lots of love and laughter.

Classes

Hi ya'll. Been getting a new little spot ready for us to have some classes.  It is just a stones throw from the old shop.  The first class offered will be a card blitz just in time for Christmas.  The new spot is small so the classes will be small.  So I am offering the Card Blitz Saturday, December 1st starting at 10:00 AM.  The second date is Monday, December 3rd at 10:00 AM.  Please let me know which day you would like to attend.  At this point I will be offering weekly classes on a rotation.  One week I will offer a card class making two cards.  The next week will be a scrapbook class. The shop will only be open three days a week(this may change).  Shop hours are 10-2, Tuesday-Thursday. I don't want to interupt your weekly gatherings so we can work around those meetings. I am excited to be meeting with you again.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Play day

There will be a play day this Saturday from 10-3 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake City.  The church is located off of Baya just East of 90.  Bring your Cricut, Cuttlebug, or whatever project you would like to play with.  Hope to see you there.

Working on a place to have our classes.  Hopefully will have a card blitz before the end of the year.  The class space will be smaller so I may have to offer it a couple of times.  If you are interested in attending classes make a comment below or send me an e-mail at gailmusto2006@gmail.com.

I finally did it!!!!

Yep.  I finally did it. I packed up to go to the Wednesday group.  You know I cut stars for the accordion folded Christmas tree.  I cut enough to play with and then I planned to cut more for each lady at the meeting.  That way they could match their paper.  I still am learning how to pack for these meetings.  I always think of one more thing I might need.   Well... I packed the Cricut, the electric cord, the extension cord, the cartridge, the key pad, and the book.  Guess what I did not pack.  Yep the mat. Ugh!!!  Jane to the rescue.  She just happened to have her bag that had a mat in it.  Whew!!!  The trees turned out cute.  Can't wait to see some of the finished cards.

Yesterday must have been my day for flubbers.  I try to get handy around the house on occasion.  Which usually ends up with a call to a repairman.  My shower was leaking so I decided to make a trip to Lowe's for a gasket or two.  Came home turned off the water got the handy philips head.  Guess what.  The water was not turned off so when I went to remove the final few pieces the water pressure blew everything off.  So much for lining everything up so I could put it back together again.  Thank goodness James was being a good supervisor.  He placed a towel over the drain so no screws went down the tube.  But boy howdy did I get a good drenching. As I got into the darn thing there were more gaskets than you could imagine.  There were two ovals, two bonnets, a tiny o-ring, and a half dollar size o-ring.  That is the one I decided was causing the leak.  Of course the two sizes I brought home were none of the sizes I needed.  I knew I should have gotten the assorted package. So I flipped the last large o-ring. It took several times to get it back together.  First time the handle would not turn.  Next time I broke the handle.  Oh well, It could stand to be replaced.  Then when I went to shower off.  I had set the pin in wrong and had to figure how to get cooler water.  I'll revisit that when I go to replace the handle.  But there is no leak!!!!

Better get busy doing something creative.  Before I turn into a pumpkin.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Where did the month go?

My goodness I can't believe how this month as flown by.  I think my last post was when I first got back from my visit with my Mother-in-law.  A lot has happened since then.  The night I got home was spent holding Prissy all night.  I think I had maybe one hour of sleep. She was just so excited to see me she could not settle down unless I held her.  Then the next day my nephew was admitted to Shands.  Of course, it was a Holiday weekend so no tests were done until the following week.  Finally,  they came up with a plan of action and did the procedure after another weekend waiting.  Amazing,  the procedure was done on Monday afternoon and Tuesday he is on his way home. Ok there is about two weeks of the month.  when you spend so much time in the hospital chances are you may pick up a bug.  Yep,  I did.  So there is another week down the drain. Thank goodness it did not develop into one of my all time heavy bronchitis attacks.  Started feeling better then Prissy got to feeling sick.  She started feeling more herself yesterday.  Tail wagging and seeking out a handout.  Here we are last week of the month.

Friday Geneva and I will be at the assisted living home.  I believe it is time for a Fall card.  The weather sure has been feeling Fallish.  Too bad we couldn't be enjoying some North Carolina mountains with those glorious Fall leaves.

Saturday is the Gateway Gathering.  Hope to see you there.

Smiles 'til I see you again.

Home at last!!!

What fun it is to be home.  I think I am just an old home body.  It was great seeing Mom Musto.  Good grief she is very active and so alert.  She cooks and keeps house and she is 94 years old!  I'm a lot younger than she is and I don't cook.  Well maybe I will start.  She had the most wonderful tomatoes.  I almost made myself sick eating them.

I was very fortunate with my flight into Atlanta.  I was expecting a roller coaster ride with the hurricane bands.  But got in just fine.  There sure were rain bands all around.

I rented a car for my trip to Altoona.  It was a little SUV.  It was little but Mom Musto kept saying how big it was. It reminded me of my little sports car.  Sitting low.  This was the first time I rented a car and actually read the manual.  The rental company only gave me one key and that did not have the fob for locking the car.  So I had to lock the car with the button on the door.   Everytime I locked that darn car and unlocked it with the key.  Yep, set the alarm off. Finally, my last day I figured out how to keep from setting off the alarm.  I have another story about the car but I will save it for another post.

Gee it is good to be home.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Hot Altoona

Well that heat has arrived back in Altoona. You know it is hot when Mom Musto turns the AC on. It is supposed to stay pretty warm until the end of my stay .

Keeping an eye out on the tropical weather. It looks like it may impact my trip home. I'm thinking Fall trip next time.

Yesterday we cleaned ceiling lights, kitchen curtains, and the garage. Today will be a quiet day. Tonight we have dinner with Mom's family.

It is amazing how they carved out the side of the mountain to put up this shopping center. This is where I go to Panera's. It is all open air.
Here is a shot from Panera's window.

Italian

My goodness I can hardly believe it is Thursday. I guess I have been getting enough rest because I was awake at 5:45 this morning. So off I go to Panera's again. Nothing like hazelnut coffee and smooth jazz.

Last night Arthur's cousins took us to DelGrosso's Amusement Park. Through the Summer they do Wednesday Italian style dinners. With a name like DelGrosso's what else would you expect! Last night was stuffed peppers with spaghetti. Yummy!!!

Missing my Craftroom

Altoona has every craft store. There is a small Michael's, a small Joann's, an AC Moore, and a huge Hobby Lobby. Where's my Craftroom. Over 800 miles away. The main focus in all these stores is home decoration. All the Fall and Christmas decorations are out in full force,

Enjoyed a morning coffee at Panera's this morning. It sits up on a hill overlooking the city. You can even see the wind turbines sitting on top of mountain.

The flowers are so pretty up here. Huge butterfly bushes. The petunias are so colorful. One of my favorites blooming along the roads is queen Anne's lace. Another not so favorite is Goldenrod!!!!

As you step out the backdoor there is a wonderful rose bush that is blooming. It has an old fashion rose smell. Reminds me of my grandmother.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Cool weather

I finally made my trip north. Almost missed my Philly connection. The plane was an hour late. But I hustled and slid in as the were closing the gate.

The weather has been very nice. 50's at night and 70's in the daytime. But warm weather is on its way. Mid 80's by the end of the week.

This is my Mother-in-law enjoying her homegrown tomato. She just turned 94 and still has a little garden.

What a busy couple of weeks.  Two weekends ago my siblings and their spouses journeyed to
Alabama.  We went to help my Aunt and Uncle celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.   Can you imagine!!!  They both looked wonderful and had some great stories to tell.  This new phone made it so much fun traveling.  Jeez,  you did not even have to be in the same car and ask "Are we there yet?".  I think my brother was just about to kill me.  But I made it worth while with all the misspelled words.  That darn keyboard is way too small.  One word I messed up was smokies.  Yep, left off the s.  Then I was trying to text my cousins name and kept missing the right letter.  Aw Heck, I just called little brother then.

Today started my journey to see my 94 year old mother-in-law.  She still lives by herself and does her own cooking.  I know you all have heard me talk about this trip and finally it is here.  Can't imagine sitting still for two hours.  Jeez Louise!!!!  I spoke with her yesterday and she was so excited.  She has several places she wants to go.  Hopefully, we will manage those little trips.  I am not taking my laptop and hoping this new smart phone will help me keep in touch.  So if it works I will keep you updated from the road.

I will miss the next gathering at Gateway.  It was so much fun the last time I went. So be sure to be in touch with Linda Northrup or some of the other ladies about joining them.

Have a great day.

Smiles 'till I see you.

I hate clothes shopping!!! I would rather be shopping for craft items. Trying on sizes you THINK you wear but realize uh oh! Need a different size. Not to mention all the exercise of putting on and taking off. Whew!!! Who needs a gym. After you have shopped and think you did good. You get home and try things on in your comfy surroundings. You guessed it. Changed your mind on what you thought looked good. Back to the store to make a return. Ugh!

I am experimenting posting using my new phone. Test run for when I am on the road. Hopefully, I have it the right keys. Between this tiny key pad and my eyes, who knows.

Smiles 'till I see you.

Disney 2012

My goodness I have been vegging out all weekend.  I guess running with the young crowd can really get you whooped.  This hot weather has not helped with the energy level.  Friday was our day at the assisted living group.  We did a watermelon card.  I'll get a picture and post it later.  Some of you saw the beginning project at the group gathering last week.  The ladies did a great job.  There were quiet a few pieces and I saved a lot of the gluing for them to do.  I only glued those tiny letters.  You know how aggravating they can be.  You get them glued everywhere but where you need them.

Finally finished the layout I started about a two weeks ago.  It doesn't need much explanation.  What a crew!!!!

I mean the kids not the characters.  Although, these guys are characters.   Love them.

Smiles 'til I see you.

WOW, I have been busy this week.  My Great Niece came for a visit.  So we have been busy since Sunday running around and playing.  She has enjoyed playing with my Great Niece who lives here.  It is wonderful for cousins to get together.  We have played games, dressed-up, ran through the water hose, swam, and gone to the movies.  Guess where I was by 9:00 every night?  Yep, I was safely tucked in my little bed.  And that is with drinking my coffee all day long.  Whew!!!  I don't know how these Moms and Dads do it.

Tomorrow we have the class at the assisted living home.  I actually almost finished it Saturday at our play day.  Just a few minor touches and we will be good to go.

Finally have my plane reservations to visit Mom Musto.  She is so excited.  When she is excited she doesn't hear what you are telling her.  So I have to send her a letter with all the  travel info in it.  I am dreading the flying.  My body is at the age where sitting for so long makes me so stiff I can barely move when I do stand-up.

Have a great day!

Smiles 'til I see you.

Sunday, July 22, 2012

Had a great day yesterday at Gateway with the ladies.  Such cute things they were making.  Several were working on Halloween cards.  Now that is planning ahead.  Many were actually working in their scrapbooks.  Several were making cards for the first time and enjoying it.  Can you imagine!!!!  There was a retro card that had so many layers. Oh my!  But it sure was cute.  That Tags, Bags, & Boxes 2 cartridge had some great little boxes coming out of one Cricut.  Just a wonderful time of getting together.  Linda Northrup has managed to secure their church for people to get together and play.  It is monthly on the 4th Saturday unless scheduling makes us change the Saturday.  I will be sure to post any changes as they come.

Been at the shop this morning.  Thank goodness I went early before people were out and about.  I went to do some weeding so my attire was questionable.  If my Sister and Nieces had seen me they would have killed me.  I had on my pink mudders, black crop pants, and a lime green t-shirt that matched the stripe down my pants( I know Geneva is saying 'Oh Lord').  No make-up and of course my hair was wild and wooly.  You know that is what curly hair does when it gets humid.  As I was working I wished for a set of windshield wipers to keep that darn sweat out of my eyes.  See if I had makeup on it would been running all over the place.  Gracious some of those wild trees are so thick I could not get my loppers around them.  Forget up digging up those roots.  I think they have made it to China.

Better get back to listing things on the Etsy shop.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Did not get to go to to lunch yesterday. Another day.  Looking forward to Saturday and playing with the ladies.  Got my little wagon ready to load-up the Cricut and cartridge boxes.  Note to self---- remember the mat and cords.....  I also better make sure I have some projects to work on. Need to decide what to take for lunch.  Not gonna have a lunch run because we are not in town. Oh McAlister's how I miss you.

I have added shots from my Etsy Shop to the Blog.  Keep checking the shop I add things each day.

Hope to see you at Gateway tomorrow.  I think we get there at 9:00 am.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Thursday, July 19, 2012

I did not work in the yard this morning because I am going to town and have lunch with the Wild Bunch.  I can't wait!!!  Well maybe I should.

I have several items listed on my Etsy shop.  Let's see who finds the shop first.

It has been a rainy morning.  It sounds lie it is booming in town.  Let the rugrats take a quick walk before the rains hit again.  Now I am watching the wind twirl my pinwheel.

I may get creative when I get back from town if I am not too pooped.  You know how much I love being at home.  If not today maybe tomorrow.  I need to keep the juices flowing.

Don't forget this weekend is the gathering at Gateway Baptist Church.  I wonder if Siri can get me there?

Better get something done while I am waiting for the head count for lunch.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Last week my Mother-in-law sent me some money for my Birthday.  So I broke down and finally got a smart phone.  I went to Geneva's to have a little visit with her family while the Missouri gang was there.  The kids helped me learn somethings as well as all the adults.  Whew!!!  I sure needed that jump start.  So far it has been interesting.  Yesterday on the way to town I pressed the button and ask Siri (you have seen the commercials where they talk to their phone)  to call Geneva.  Siri comes back and says" Sorry Gail, I can not get access to Switzerland's directory".  Ok, I almost had to pull over because I was laughing so hard.  I tried again and this time she did get the right Geneva.  Then last night I was here on the computer working on my Etsy sight and my phone chips (that is the sound for a text message). The message is from sweet Emily wanting face time ( this is what she helped me set up).  I said sure. So here we are seeing one another via phone as we talked to one another.  Of course I am sitting pretty still and she is all over thew room.  We talked until my phone came up that my battery is low.  So we said good night.  Technology is so wonderful.

Well, technology is wonderful when it is working for you.  I have been try to set up my Etsy shop and can't get my darn banner to work.  So I finally just closed down last night.  I'll give it another try today.

Those cute little Hummingbirds are buzzing the Bottlebrush Bush this morning.  They are soo fast and make this sound.  Obviously we don't need a feeder.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

I am not a fan of big changes.  Blogger has changed it's format and it is a bugger to be retrained.  I'm comfortable with what I know don't make me grow by changing things!!!  Ha Ha.

While working in the yard this morning I could hear the Quail off in the yard somewhere.  Couldn't see them but what a lovely sound.  Frank is gonna have quite a fire when he gets to burning again.

I think I could become a hermit out here.  It is hard to motivate myself to go to town.  There are things at the shop I need to take care of but.....  Maybe I'll get there by lunchtime.  That's good reasoning.  I need to get some lunch.

I see where Tim Holtz has a new app for those smart phones.  You can keep track of what you have that has his name on it.  By next week there should be an app for the android phones.  The best part it is free.  I am checking around for an app for Cricut cartridges.  There is a free app for the android.  There are apps for the I phone but I have not read about how good they are.  The android app is from Joys life.  She has a blog with a file that lets you mark the cartridges you have and then print or save.

Better get to going so I can motivate myself to get those car keys.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Monday, July 16, 2012

I finally have my e-mails below 100.  Phew!!!  What a job.  Many were mouthwatering dessert recipes.  How do you go about deleting those.  Folders.  Yep moved them to a folder so when I get hungry for something sweet.  I can surf those yummy pictures.  One came through this morning that was a single cup of chocolate chip cookie warm with ice cream.  Yowie!!! Did that look good.

Worked in the yard this morning 'til it got to darn hot.  When water starts rolling into my eyes where I can't see...  Then it is time to stop.  So I will get back out there tomorrow morning when it is cool.

Linda Northrup has moved up our meeting date at Gateway Baptist.  The new meeting is set for this Saturday July 21st.  Hope to see you there.

It is hard to believe that this is the middle of the month.  It won't be long and the kiddos will be back in school.  That means September is fast approaching.  I better get busy and start planning.

Smiles 'til I see you.

Can't Get My Head Wet!!!

I have been busy in the yard the last couple of days.  I weeded and placed some rocks in the front garden.  Then today I trimmed the Crepe Myrtle.  You know how those shoots start around the base.  Well, some I did not trim because they had a few blossoms on them.  I 'll trim them later.
I baby sat a couple of little dogs over the weekend.  One was a puppy.  Oh my gosh how you forget their little antics.  She is tiny and I had to be careful of where she was all the time.  She loved to get under some of my long table skirts and who knows what she did.  I think she would look for treasures to chew.  She was out of luck.  Because the only thing she would find would be dust bunnies.

After the yard work and a shower I began another layout.  My brother sent me this photo of his grandson cooling off in a bucket.  He had an ear infection and was not supposed to get his head wet.  He sure figured out away to get around that!

The end of June was the card class at the assisted living home.  So I thought I would share the card we did.

Yep, it had the bling going.  Those ladies noticed the sparkle on the fireworks right away.  They were able to do their own Cuttlebugging.  Of course, I made sure the handle did not swing back and hit them.

Fed-ex brought me a cute little Ladybug Stamp Set.

Happy Birthday

I've worked in my craft room creating today. Well, it took three rooms to finish.  You know me I spread out all over the place. And you can imagine poor Prissy.  She has a bed next to my desk here in the craft room but every time I move she is up and running.  She sure gets a good nights sleep.  There is still some arranging and learning spots to be more productive.  But I am here to tell you being away from the creative end for a few weeks makes it go slower when you bring out that paper and glue.  So I better set a schedule to create something every day.  Well maybe every couple of days.  Otherwise I put too much pressure on the creative aspect.  The layout is for my nephew who turns 36 today.  Oh my!!!  Can't be.  I'm not that old am I.  Jeez Louise!!!!

Love you.  Happy Birthday!!!

That cute Ladybug stamp set arrived on Saturday.

Craft room and Debby

I am well and starting to see daylight in the craft room. I still have a long way to go at the shop. Those magazines are still lined up on the tables. Boxes need labeling and the stock room needs some work. But at least I can start to create again. I did a class at Still Waters last week. Who knows what I will get around to creating this week.

There is the old trusty computer sitting on the desk. All is well when that is running.

We were lucky with the heavy rain from Debby. No flooding around the house. One of our entrances is flooded. You can only get through with one of those high bed trucks. You know how I worried about our pond drying up.... Well here is a picture of our pond. The little walkway is under water. The log is now floating around with several large turtles sunning.

As you can see it is almost out to the road at one end. The waterfowl have been flocking in and enjoying the new water level.

Smiles until I see you.

Hoot Hoot Hooray!!!

Here is our layout for the week of May 23rd. It is Hoot Hoot Hooray celebrating a graduation. I am just now getting around to posting it.

Then last weeks layout was all about Friends.

We had such a wonderful day last Thursday May 31st. Thank you all who came and celebrated. There was fun, laughter, and lots of food. Yes, and a few tears.

The Beginning

What a wonderful day of celebration. So much laughter and fun. Naturally, our last two classes were wild and woolly. Those ladies can really get me going sometime. Sometime ... most of the time. I never know what a simple little comment will lead into. We worked our way through both the card and layout( I will post both last weeks and this weeks layout later). There were so many ladybugs working their way across the scrapbook page and shining from our last card at the shop.

Then we jumped into all that food. Oh my goodness!!! It was all finger foods and oh so yummy. I hope to post some pictures of the groaning table. And that is what I did after nibbling all afternoon. But that did not stop me from enjoying more for dinner last night. I even shared a little bit with the little girl.

Those who were at the shop today know that I am having a Water Oak taken out of the backyard. You know I had to get Pokey in the next door neighbors pasture. You can imagine how interesting that was. Me dressed for the day with pink rubber clogs, pearls on my ears and around my neck, shaking the cup of feed, and coaxing Pokey to move my way. I finally put the small cup of feed in his feed bucket and shook it. That got his attention. He knows that sound. I hook the bucket to the fence post and proceeded to tie the rope around the opening. Well it wouldn't stop a stampede but it keeps him where he is away from the tree trimming. Before I fed him tonight I grabbed a storage tub and moved it to his area around the feed bucket. Our hose is not that long so I made four or five trips to fill it with water. Naturally, that darn horse kept standing at the feed bucket as if to say 'Forget the water I'm ready for that sweet feed'.

Here I have hired a tree trimmer to cut this tree out after spotting some huge dead limbs. Now this tree must be about 6 feet in diameter at the base. It has to be old, old, old. I get home knowing he still has to finish up tomorrow. There are so many limbs down you can't see the pasture where Pokey is. Not only that, but we must have had some weather here today because a tree uprooted in the front yard. Good Grief!!! There were more limbs around the yard today than when the storm came through the other day and they weren't from the tree trimming. Thank goodness I moved the truck. So, instead of working on the rest of those thorny Azaleas I'll be gathering tree limbs.

May 31, 2006-May 31, 2012

Six years ago today we opened our front doors on Cole Terrace. It was the beginning of a wonderful adventure. Playing with paper was my hobby and this hobby became Scrappy Papers. What fun it was shopping for all that paper. All those stamps. Seeing new and wonderful tools. Then in the Fall of 2007 we moved to our new location on Highway 90.

Thanks to my Family who helped set up both shops. They painted, drilled, put down flooring,
and encouraged me. Without their help Scrappy would not have been the comfortable cute shop I called my second home. Yep, it definitely was my second home or maybe it was my first home and I just left it long enough to sleep at night.

Over the last few years I have learned so much. I knew a tiny bit about a lot of different things. With each card and layout I learned a little more. With each question, I learned more. I also learned what great cooks you all are. I know you often saw my face behind that computer screen. But the computer helped me to learn and figure things out. I loved learning things and then sharing them with you. You encouraged me to find the unusual and were always gracious in accepting whatever I created. I get so excited when you share all the things you have made. It's pure joy for me to see your creativity.

Scrappy Papers would not be what it is without you. As Carter calls you 'The Ladies'. When I started this little adventure I never imagined all the friendships. My friendship with you and your friendship with each other. Usually I post pictures of you guys but this time I want you to visualize faces that you remember sitting across from you, or coming through the front door, or offering to help you. These are the friendly faces at Scrappy Papers. You so wonderfully welcomed whoever walked in that front door. It's like you were welcoming them into our home. That is what makes being at Scrappy's so special. A warm friendly atmosphere. Keeping that friendly bond going after the shop closes is wonderful.

There is and ending to every adventure. But then there is always a new adventure to begin.
As I end this adventure I want to thank you all for the love and support you have given me these last six years. You have made the adventure so rewarding. It will be very hard closing those doors this afternoon, but I am looking forward to opening that next door and starting the new adventure ( after a little rest of course).

This will be last time I get to say 'See you at the shop.'

Boy when you ask for rain sometime you really get it. It seems to be soaking in pretty good. I had a few limbs down around the house but if we had any heavy wind I missed it. Slept right through the night. Prissy and I are at the shop waiting for those coming in to play today. Maybe that bell will be ringing some great sales throughout the day.

See you at the shop.

Sunday, May 27, 2012

My goodness Saturday was a whirlwind. Lot's of good shopping going on during the day. They do love to hear that bell ring. Four more days left to grab those deals. This week we have 50% off ( unless that bell rings and there is a different discount) merchandise excluding classes, displays, and new merchandise. Our hours are Monday through Thursday 10:00 until 5:00 pm. After our class on Thursday we will have a little celebration. So come say goodbye to the shop.

See you at the shop.

Friday, May 25, 2012

Tomorrow will be our last Saturday meeting at the shop. Some people are bringing their Cricut. Some are bringing their Cuttle bug. Some are just coming to hear that bell ring for those great sales.

We will be open on Monday.

Count down is on. Only a few more days to stop by and grab that bargain. It is a great time to stock up on those supplies for those Summer crafts. This week the sale is 40% off your total purchase excluding sale items, new items, classes and displays.

I love learning things from those little guys that come to the shop. Today I learned a new word. Hecho. We ask after hearing this word several times 'What do you mean?'. The little guy says' You know when you (he now cups his hand and starts saying... hellooooooo). As we burst out laughing and say ECHO you mean echo. Yeah, that's what I said hecho. You know he is learning words now. We sure learned a new word and loved every minute of that education.

Enjoy the evening. Gotta get to bed early so I can make it to Graduation in the morning.

Shop opens at 11:00 in the morning.

See you at the shop.

Monday, May 21, 2012

What a wonderful last Card Blitz at the shop. The ladies did a great shop keeping pace. There were a lot they had to do this time. No lost pieces. Lots of laughter and sharing. And to top it all off Joan made this awesome cake. And boy did I enjoy that humongous piece. Lots of chocolate and whipped cream. Yummmmmm!!!!!

This next week I will be out of the shop during the morning Tuesday through Friday. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday the shop will open at 11:00 am. Friday it will be more like 12:00. Lots of graduations, awards, and my class at the retirement home. Whew! I'm tired already. Oh there is also one card and one layout to have ready for the week.

The sale this week will be 40% off of everything excluding reduced items, displays, new merchandise, and classes. The merchandise has been zipping out the door these Saturdays with that bell ringing. There is one more Saturday for that bell to be ringing. So don't miss out on grabbing up those great deals.

Better get busy. Laundry, painting, gardening, and what ever the little girl might come up with. You know she can dance and demand anything from me.

See you at the shop.

Mom 2012

My camera woke up. Technology is wonderful, but sometimes it drives me craZZZZyYYYYY!!!

Our layout shows my Mom and Dad and oldest brother. My goodness my Mom and Dad sure looked so young. Well so did I. And why was I smirking instead of smiling. Makes me think I was up to something. Look at that hair... no curls. Get ready to do some punching tomorrow.

Better get to bed. I have to get up pretty early tomorrow.

See you at the shop.

Mom

Tomorrow's layout will have to be a surprise. My camera is down for the count.

Back later.

See you at the shop.

Weekly Special

This weeks sale is 20% off your total purchase (excluding classes, displays and sale items).

Sunday, May 6, 2012

What a great day yesterday. Ringing that bell, helping with the craft room, and eating. Yes you know we can't have a gathering without food. So many sale items going out the door. The ladies were learning to use the craft room and boy did they do a great job. I laughed and said I was headed to the back for a little fortification. But I was just teasing them. When I see them accomplishing things on their own it makes me smile and want to give them a high five. Congrats ladies on doing a great job.

Several ladies walked out with some of the display items. So when you come into the store the next time do not be surprised at some of the changes. As the month progresses more items will begin to go missing from the shelves so don't miss out on getting those supplies you need before they are gone, gone gone.

This coming Saturday will be our last Cuttlebug Club meeting in the shop. There maybe another ring that bell sale going on. Oh my like 60% off punches, 50% off flowers, albums, stamps, packaged cards, and metal embellishments. Oh my the deals.

What a beautiful Easter Sunday it was at my house. But then I came to town and oh my goodness the smoke. It was awful. Not a good day for Easter egg hunts. But that did not stop the little munchkins from hunting eggs at Mema's house. Lot's of excitement. Then I went back home and did my usual Sunday chores.

Prissy is snoozing and I am taking care of a few things. One of those things is this weeks card.
Quiet here at the shop today. I guess everyone is still recouping from their weekend activity.

Our sale this week is 50% off stickers, rub-ons, and stencils.

I had a wonderful time yesterday. Enjoyed Geneva's grandkids and our trip to see the butterflies. My goodness how awesome are their different colors. So of course I had to do a layout sharing our trip. So here are just a few of the 120 photos I took.

Friday morning I will be out at Still Waters for a card class. The shop will be open around lunch time.

Better get home and get ready for the lunch crowd tomorrow. Those ladies always bring some wonderful food.

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

I can not believe we are in the last week of March. Good grief!!! That means Easter is next week.

This weeks layout is about having fun playing ball. Those hot days spent watching the little guys hitting the ball all over the field. This guy looks pretty serious in that catchers mask. And of course you can't go to the ball field and not go to the concession stand.

Remember to bring your colored pencils for that digi stamp tomorrow.

See you at the shop.

Monday, March 26, 2012

What a great weekend. We had some rain and then it turned cooler. Love it!!!! I even cranked up the warming seat for Prissy this morning. Then on the way to the shop I enjoyed several deer crossing the road. My goodness how beautiful to see the deer leaping over the fence. Such an awesome sight. After leaving the Prissy at the shop I did the mile mall walk with Jane. What a great way to start the day.

This Saturday is an open play day. I wonder what toys we will play with? I have seen some cute projects floating around.

This weeks sale is 50% off Brass Stencils, Luminartes Primary Element Powder and Shimmering spray, Chipboard letters, and Polymer Clay.

I better finish up and get home before the bottom drops out of the sky.

See you t the shop.

Adore

If this weather doesn't make up it's mind. No wonder everyone is having trouble with their allergies. And, oh yes we loose an hour this weekend. So remember Saturday night to spring forward one hour.

This week our layout captures a cute little flower girl before the wedding and then enjoying the party time. Don't you just love that Mother/Daughter smile. They learn that smile early. These two are just way too pretty. Love them both.

Well since it isn't full dark yet (thanks to that old man moon). I am gonna get set up for tomorrow and hustle on home. I need to get to bed early tonight. I made the mistake of having Starbucks coffee about 6:30 last night so I could not get sleepy. I finally made myself get into bed about 3:30. Then I was up a little after 6:30 am. So I am ready freddy.

See you at the shop.

Sunday, March 4, 2012

Wild Thing

Love the nice soaking rain we had this week. But I did not like the temp turning so warm today. Oh my! Needless to say my little fur ball is not wearing her sweater this week.

The layout title is 'Wild Thing'. You could have pictures of almost anything that would fit in with this title. I think I could have used any family pictures. It is always wild around our house when we all get together. But the pictures I used were of a sweet family at the zoo.

Have a wonderful evening. Better get finished here and get on home. Tomorrow is the 1st Thursday of the month. That means the ladies are bringing lunch. Oh my!

See you at the shop.

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Well we actually had a little bit of rain today. We just need a good long soaking day. As I left home today I spotted a wading bird trying to find enough water to stand in.

This week we have the title 'Good Times'. We all can remember fun times we have had. My Brothers love to fish. Oh well, my Sister does too. But she doesn't get to go very often or at all. My Brothers usually go to the Gulf to fish. These shots are of them fishing with their Sons. Fishing is not something I ever really enjoyed. I think I just don't have the patience to sit and wait for that pole to move.

Gotta get moving and set the table for those wild and crazy ladies.

See you at the shop.Align Center

Monday, February 20, 2012

What a windy day we had yesterday. My goodness I felt like Winnie the Pooh. Even Prissy had trouble keeping her balance. It was a better day for the re-enactment. At least it wasn't stormy and rainy.

Saturday's Blitz was lots of fun. The ladies did well and we finished in record time even with the unusual cards we made. Thank you ladies for making it a fun day. I know I stress myself out sometime but you always get me back on track.

Our thoughts are with Rosemary in the loss of her Mother.

Our sale this week: 35% off all Chipboard, 35% off all Tools & Punches, 50% off all Magazines and Books.

Have a wonderful day today.

See you at the shop.

Watch Me Grow

This darn weather can not make up it's mind. One minute we are frozen. Then it drizzles a little rain. I know every little bit helps but... really. We could use an all day soaker. Today I had to turn on the AC. Jeez Louise! We don't need to start with the heat so soon.

Our layout for this week showcases how fast children grow up. One minute you are helping them with everything. The next minute they are helping you. Grab those photos and scrapbook them so you can always remember those changing moments.

Better finish up and get the table set for that Thursday wild bunch. There will be a crew of them tomorrow. I love those crazy ladies.

See you at the shop.

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

My goodness it does not feel like Winter these last couple of days. I know it will change in a split second. I hear by the first of the week we will be back down in the 30's.

Next week will be Valentine's Day. So this week our layout is celebrating the loves of our lives. So start digging those special pictures out and start putting them on a page.

Well, it is early yet so it will be nice to get the little girl home and tucked in early for a change.

Saturday is Cuttlebug fun. So pack up those little bugs and come play.

See you at the shop.

Monday, February 6, 2012

The weather has been so beautiful the last couple of days. The weathermen keep threatening us with a rain forecast but nothing drops from the sky. Just enjoying this early Spring we are having.

35% off Brass Stencils
50% off Primary Elements Powders

Have a great day.

See you at the shop.

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

My goodness, I can not believe this is the first day of February. In a couple of weeks will be Valentine's Day. Hope you have your cards ready.

For our layout this week we will be in the wilderness. The pictures I used show three generations in the woods. And of course all that activity makes you sooo tired. There is nothing like taking a quick nap in grandfather's arms. So precious. Love it!!!

Better get closed up. Gotta get home and make some cornbread. Well maybe, I will wait until the morning to do that. I'm thinking it would be better to get a good nights sleep before tomorrow.

See you at the shop.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Little Helpers

What a wonderful day of nice slow rain. We really did need it. The ladies braved the weather and came to class this morning. Then those cooks shared this months goodies. Everything was so good.

I can remember standing with my grandmother helping her roll biscuits. But what an opportunity to learn to cook with a great-grandparent. These two little guys enjoy dropping those tender dumplin's in the pot side by side with their great-grandmother. Isn't that so wonderful. Nothing like having such cute little helpers. So here is our layout for this week showing those cute little helpers.

No more spaces left for our Card Blitz this weekend. So if you have your name on the list be prepared for a wild and crazy fun time this weekend.

Better get home.

See you at the shop.

Monday, January 16, 2012

Wow!!! Two cards ready for card blitz on Saturday. The list of people attending is also growing. Now on to the card for the week and our layout. I think our layout has something to do with cooking.

Have a great evening.

See you at the shop.

Sunday, January 15, 2012

How is your weekend going? There was a great group playing with their Cuttlebugs yesterday. So many cute ideas. I went home early last night and had most of my laundry done before going to bed. So just a few loads this morning and Prissy and I were off to the shop. We start unpacking and good grief no computer. You know I can't get anything done around here without my little black baby. So I called home and interrupted Frank's Sunday morning breakfast ritual. He was nice enough to meet me halfway with my computer. So back in business. But it is chilly here so I had to crank up the heat a little as well as the coffeepot.

I'm trying to get those Blitz cards, layout, and card for the week ready. This week will be a busy one. The cookbook group has started back up and will meet on Wednesday to have lunch here at the shop. Yummy!!!! I have one Blitz card almost ready. I began cutting it out yesterday. It will be a birthday card. Make sure you sign up early because that Blitz group has grown and there are only so many seats available.

The sale this week is 25% off all stamps, punches, and templates.

Better get back to work.

See you at the shop.

Simply Adorable

Did you get some of that rain today? It rained pretty hard here at the shop. But it did not last very long. Here is our layout for the week. I think the title says it all.

Better get finished with everything and get on home. Tomorrow is another full house plus for both classes. Oh my!!!!

See you at the shop.

Craft Room Play Day

For those of you coming tomorrow for our 'Craft Room' play day. Some of you were needing a cable. On one of the forums it says you can use an A/B usb cable that is used for your printer connections. So check around your house and see if you already have a cable that fits your Cricut.

See you at the shop.

Family Time

My goodness we have had some very cold weather the last couple of days. Last night when I left town it was 35 degrees. By the time I got to Bierly it had dropped to 31. Then at 135 it was 29. Oh my at the feed mill it had dropped to 27. Geez Louise what will it be by the time I get home. How about 26. Yep. Prissy and I made a mad dash from the car to the house. But then we had to bundle up for her to make her little walk around the back yard. Good thing she did not doodle around. Then this morning Poor Nan could not get a drink out of the fountain because it was all frozen. Pokey's water trough only had a thin layer of ice. Thank goodness it was not windy or it really would have seemed a lot colder. It was 26 at 9:30 this morning. Wow!!!

Here is our first layout for the new year. It is always great getting together with family no matter what time of year. So this layout is about having that special 'Family Time'.

Better get the table set for tomorrow mornings class. It will be a full house and I mean a full house. You know it is that Thursday morning wild bunch. Just love them and the way they have such a good time.

See you at the shop.

Monday, January 2, 2012

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve. I called my Mother in law and did the Time square countdown the last few seconds. Went to bed and woke up with a headache. But when I finally started the day I cranked until about 8:30. I stopped long enough to eat Frank's breakfast and then the ribs he cooked. I spent the day taking down Christmas decorations. Oh my!!! Maybe next year we will not put up 3 trees and wrap garland everywhere. As I was putting away things in the attic I found boxes with Christmas decorations that never got opened this year. I guess I have always been a nut about Christmas. I used to fuss at my Mother in law for not decorating but I guess I am approaching that age of why. I did not think I would ever get to that point but after climbing the attic stairs to put things away maybe I am. Jane better get back home so we can start walking again. Maybe I am out of shape again. You think? Maybe it is like having a baby after waiting a year you forget about all the hard work and just jump in with both feet and decorate. We'll see.

This week the Thursday group will be bringing lunch. And yes Thursday is weigh in day and through the Holidays I have not been doing very well. Better do better the first part of the week to prepare for Thursday.

Saturday is play day. So bring in those fun projects and relax while being creative.

Sale items this week are 50% off those LuminArt' Primary Element Powders, 40% off all idea books (excludes the currant publications), 40% off Zutter bookbinding products, and 30% off all Stickers. These things should help get your creative juices flowing.

Guess I better get to work on our card for the week.

See you at the shop.
