You Warm My Heart April 22, 2013

I know I have been absent for a few days. Been busy with special projects and the Card Blitz.

I made my last pass to check the pups the middle of last week. No sign of them. When I pass that way I still turn and look. Hopefully they are safe somewhere.

This is the second layout for this week.

April 14, 2013

I am still checking on the pups even though I have not seen them for several days. The last few days I have left fresh water and refilled the food dish. Since I have not seen them I don't know if I am feeding them, the neighborhood dogs, or wild animals. But iI have to keep checking to make sure they are not there.

Next week we have card class for the week and Card Blitz Friday and Saturday.
Make sure you let me know if you plan to attend any class.

I had a busy Thursday. Fed the pus. Worked at the shop. Went to the kids awards at school. They love that simple recognition. Then as they get older not so much. Went to lunch. Back to the shop for more work. Dodged the rain and shipped the UPS package. Shop time. Then off to watch softball. The girls did a double header. Congrats!!! They won first place in their league. Now Miss Emily will be playing on a traveling league. She is so cute when she puts on all that catchers gear. Then I stopped an checked the pups. Whew!!! I am not used to getting home at 10:00 pm anymore. It was a wild and wonderful day.

April 12, 2013

Just to update on the pups. I stopped to check them Wednesday morning and it was just the Border Collie and the Terrier. I did not see them at first. I usually drive slowly down the little lane looking on either side of the road. Then I stop on my way back out to check the food and water. As I was pouring fresh water the Terrier started barking. I looked up and he is standing on the road by the stop sign. I ease up there with my flashers on and get out of the car. I spotted the Border Collie just lying on a bed of wild flowers just looking up at me not moving. I was concerned that he had gotten dehydrated. I reach in the car for some food. Then I ease forward talking gently. I spooked him. He jumped up ran toward the fence then out to the road. Oh my goodness. hat is the last thing I want. I decided if I left he would come back away from the road. When I returned that afternoon he wasn't anywhere to be seen. As I stopped to check the water and food here comes the Terrier and a big Collie. That collie was so friendly. I had to shut the car door because I thought he was gonna jump in. Now why couldn't the three pups been like that. I petted the Collie and put fresh water in the bowl. The Collie drank but the Terrier stayed behind the barbed wire fence. I started walking around to see if the Border Collie could be found. I looked back where the Collie and Terrier were. The Collie was laying down and the Terrier was standing up close to him. He had found a new companion. As I was leaving they were walking down the fence line together headed to the horse farm. I called animal control yesterday. They said they had been out there but had not seen the dogs. I went by last night about 9:30 to check their supplies. I knew I would not see them in the dark. Both the water and food bowls were full. This morning no pups. The bowls were full. I put fresh water and eased on down the road looking as I went. Hopefully, the three of them have found a safer location or better yet a new home.

Saturday is play day here at the shop. Starts at 10:00.

April 9, 2013

I checked on the pups last night and gave them water and food.  Most of the stainless steel bowls with food had been removed.  I know I spelled stereo in the morning post.  Those darn smart phones don't have big keys or screen.  All three were there.  This morning when I went by they were tucked in somewhere.  But I replenished the water and left food.  After ten I started making my calls.  Wellborn rescue does not take animals from the public.  They rescue dogs from animal control.  They suggested that I call animal control.  I finally reached them.  They said they couldn't get out there today.  I asked if I could check back to make sure they had picked them up.  She said I could.  I told her I would continue putting out food and water.  I came by tonight and left food and water.  I only saw two.  I could not spot the shaggy one.  I hope it was hiding or someone was able to catch it and take it home.  I drove up and around and did not see it.  Hopefully, they will get rescued before the rains come this week.  I wish I were a dog whisperer and could coax them into the car.

This Saturday is the play day/gathering.  It will be at the shop this month and next.  It starts at 10 AM.

April 7, 2013

I checked on the pups this afternoon. They are still there. Some of the food dishes were missing so I left them food and refilled the water bowls. The Border Collie is limping. I think it has paced the road so much it's pads are blistered.

Here they are....

April 7, 2013

I planned ahead today. I put my car keys next to my phone last night. The fist thing I packed were my Cricut mats. The sewing machine manual is in the case with the machine. Once I get started it will be interesting to see if I did leave anything.

Stopped by to check on the pups. They must have still been bedded down somewhere because I did not see them. But I did see 5 big stainless steel dog bowls full of water and food. There were other little signs people were leaving them food. They are so adorable. We tried again yesterday to get close but they are still pretty skiddish. We need a dog whisperer.

Debbie can not open the church for the next couple of months. I will open the shop for the monthly gathering. Again it starts at 10:00. We can play as long as we can last. That is this Saturday. Hope to see you there.

April 6, 2013 2nd update

False alarm.  The poor little guys were still there tonight.  But someone else is watering and feeding them.  They have their bowls back off the road so it makes me feel a little better.  Hopefully they will stay down that lane and away from the main highway.  More to come tomorrow.

April 6, 2013 update

Just went to feed and water three little dogs.  Nowhere to be seen.  I did leave water and plan to check before dark to make sure they are not there.  Hopefully they were just lost and their owners came and found them.  Will keep you updated on any new developments.

April 6, 2013

From yesterday's post you know I left my phone and was halfway to town when it dawned on me.   I finally do the turn around and get to town.  My first stop was to go to Wally World and get a certain size sewing needle.  I had done some research and knew that I had to use a certain size needle to sew on paper.  I am standing in front of the needle selection.  Ok, what size needle???  I go to get that darn smart phone that has my notes and yep... I left it in the car.  Another turn around to retrieve the phone.  Of course when you go there you always end up with other things.  So my one tiny item ended up with me doing a balancing act to get to the register.  Then my next stop is to get my coffee and tea at Micky D's.  Spring Break is supposed to be over but...it took me some time to get through the drive-in.  Finally, I am at the shop but of course I need to gather my self together after all that and unloading all my tools.  You know when you go on vacation how you over pack thinking you need more than you do.  That is how I pack when I go to the shop.  That van is loaded.  It takes me about a half hour to load and unload.  I have my Cricut, Cuttlebug, Paper, Punches, and tool bag.  You know you have to have every embossing folder you have because you never know which one you will use.  Same thing with those Cricut Cartridges.  I have gotten better about dies and border punches, but not much.  I get cranking and there I have my first Blitz card done.  I use that darn smart phone and do a My Cut Search for that special cut on the Cricut.  I take my list over to the cartridge boxes.  What...not there.  I had left the case with that cartridge.  Not only that but I had left my mats.  Good grief!!!!  So I scrub that project and closed up the Cricut and those cartridge boxes.  Next...  I set up the machine to put that special needle in.  Of course that screw holding the needle won't budge.  I dig out the handy tool kit.  The screw driver won't budge it.  I grab a penny.  Yahoo!!!  It finally moves.  I practice and play.  No matter what I tried the tension is too tight.  Naturally I didn't have the machines manual.  It was at home.  Ok, time to pack that up.  Time to go home.

As I headed into town I notice three little dogs on the side of the road.  I figure they belong to the people building a new house and that they just got adventurous and came down to the road.  Guess what the three little guys were there when I came home.  Everyone is gone at the new home site and the gate is closed.  My car is soo packed there is no way I can get them in.  So I go home unpack.  I then tell my family about them.  The family couldn't tell what I was saying because I was in tears.  I called the Wellborn Rescue league.  No one there until Tuesday.  I called Sandy to make sure there was no one there until Tuesday.  She said they feed the animals but did not answer the phones.  My Brother, and Sister-in-law went back up to see if wee could get them in the car.  We only found the one wandering the road.  There was someone in a pickup trying to coax the little dog in his truck.  My Sister-in-law  tried and could not get close to him. Needless to say I did not sleep very much last night.  I packed up food and water and went to check this morning.  All three were still there.  Two were curled up at the very edge of the road.  The little one was down the lane a little ways.  Naturally it is the only one with a collar.  I get out and place the bowl of water down.  Then I open a can of chicken and set it down.  The one dog we tried to get last night came and ate.  The other fluffy one kept circling the car away from me.  I wanted the other two dogs to eat so I walked down the lane toward the littlest one and set the can down. I walked away and they started eating.  Then another lady showed up with food.  We talked and she had been able to get the one to eat out of her hand last night but could not get close enough to touch him. They are hanging out close to the road and near a railroad track  .I guess I will be doing a food and water run until Tuesday and pray nothing happens to them in the meantime.

I have posted a long one today.  Since I have been off of posting hopefully you won't mind.

Card class this week. Each card class we do one Christmas Card and one all purpose card. It is fun doing a Christmas card throughout the year. Maybe by Christmas season we will be less stressed and can enjoy.

Next week we will do two layouts. Still working on the titles.

April 19th and 20th is the Card Blitz. So make plans to join us on either day. If there is enough interest I could do the Blitz on Monday the 22nd.
