Classes are over and Prissy and I are enjoying some quiet time before weigh in today. I don't know if I lost any this week with all those sweet peaches I have been eating. Of course my excuse for not exercising is that it is too darn hot. I guess during the Winter it will be too darn cold.

Teddi sent me her recipe for the Marinated Tomatoes.

3 large Beefsteak or Ugly tomatoes (never heard of Ugly tomatoes)

Slice tomatoes thick and place in an 11x13 glass dish.

Combine:

1/3 cup of red wine vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic clove
1 Tablespoon parsley
1 Tablespoon fresh Basil or only 1 teaspoon if using dried Basil
2 Tablespoons onion chopped fine

Pour mixture over sliced tomatoes.
Cover and refrigerate overnight or for several hours

These are awesome.

Stay cool.

See you at the shop.

Explore

This week our layout is about exploring. The pictures I chose are of a child exploring. But you could use pictures from a trip. Maybe you have a new toy that you are learning to use. How about a pet checking things out. Grab those pictures and get them on a page.

Sandie brought us some of the most awesome peaches. I have been dripping juice for a couple of days. Hopefully, I won't be turning too peachy. But they are just too wonderful.

Saturday is a play day. So come on over and play. It is a great day to get things set up for a project or work on a project.

See you at the shop.

What a day. It began with that wonderful group from Still Waters. Those ladies are so wonderful.
My great nieces came to give me a hand. Thank you ladies for doing such a good job putting your cards together. And a great big hug to my great nieces for helping out.

The girls pointed out that we had a leak in our bathroom. Thank you Josh for getting that leak stopped. The power flickered off but did not go out completely. The Verizon power was totally off. Next I went to print something and yep. No ink. Naturally it was a color that I did not have. So off I went to get the ink and lunch. Hot... Hot.... Hot!!!! Man, stay inside. Then after I get back I realize there is no cable(gosh I gotta see what the weather is), no phone service( I can't run credit cards or do a FAX), and no internet. What no internet. I ran to the car pulled out that cell phone I have trouble using. Call Comcast. Oh yes there is a major outage in my area. How long? No idea. But it came back on thank goodness.

I guess that counting points really works. I have lost 13 pounds so far. Hopefully, I will stick with it. Having that support system really helps. Cause they can really do some cooking and now it is really healthy.

Saturday is Cricut Club. So come play and have some fun.

See you at the shop.

Life is what you make it

So many times we make excuses why we can't do something. Stop and take time to enjoy life. You don't want to find yourself saying "I wish...". It may take only a few minutes to listen to a child tell you something. You may have a pet that just needs a few minutes of lovin'. Whatever you may be making excuses for not having time. Make time and enjoy. This weeks layout is all about taking time with Family. No matter what age the beach is fun!!! And this family enjoys just being together no matter where they are.

So take time to enjoy your life and make some wonderful memories.

See you at the shop.

My gosh. I can't believe we are almost to the end of July. Time is really flying by. Before you know it we will be back in school and celebrating the Holidays. Good grief!

We did get an early start on Christmas. Our Card Blitz this month was Christmas in July. There were three cards and a gift idea. The ladies did great. We finished on time and even spent a little time celebrating Joy graduating from her Masters program. Ya'll are getting good.

This week we have our usual classes and on Saturday is Cricut Club. So bring in your Cricut and have fun cutting up some paper. This Friday we have our Still Waters group coming to make a card. They are always such a treat.

Better get busy creating.

See you at the shop.

Sweet

There is nothing like dunking an Oreo cookie. This weekend my Niece and her family came by for a visit. Of course, Papa had to take her grocery shopping. Naturally her choices were all those yummy sweets. Like Oreo cookies. She cranked out the milk and cookies Sunday morning and I couldn't resist capturing all that licking and dunking. So here is our layout for this week.

My goodness, that leaves just two cards left. One for the Blitz and the other I will have ready for tomorrow nights class. You know I work better under pressure.

Coming home tonight I spotted those lovely deer grazing in the front yard. Love it, Love it! What a way to end the day.

Better close up and get ready for bed.

See you at the shop.

How's your day going. We had a visit from a Niece this weekend. She and her family arrived last night. We enjoyed dinner at Sonny's. And yes I behaved myself. I had chicken and broccoli. This morning Frank fixed breakfast. Scrambled eggs, grits, crisp bacon, and my special little wheat roll. But the as we sat around the table Miss Hannah started munching on Oreo's and milk. Yes, I splurged and had my skim milk and a couple of cookies. Hannah played with the teddy bears, and dressed my bedpost with ribbons, and then enjoyed opening hat boxes. Oh my!!!! What fun.

After they left Prissy and I loaded up for the shop ( I have two more Blitz cards, a layout, and a weekly card to do). As we headed down my street I noticed a neighbors yard had a cluster of mushrooms growing. I said to myself 'have we had that much rain?'. It was very strange that they were just in one spot around this flag. I came closer and slowed down. Uh oh! No mushrooms just golf balls where my neighbor was putting.

I thank all the ladies for celebrating my Birthday last week. That wild Thursday group brought lunch to the shop. Yummy!!!! Everything was delicious. And it was fun to sit and enjoy one another. Emily would be proud of me. I even wore earrings that day. Then after weigh in another group of ladies treated me to dinner and we celebrated here at the shop. These ladies are gonna get me organized yet! I will post some pictures of both celebrations and some of the great birthday cards.

Sunshine Stampers are in the shop tomorrow. Then Card Blitz is Saturday as well as our usual weekly classes. So come have some fun with us.

Guess I better get busy with this weeks projects.

See you at the shop.

Happy 4th of July!

Wishing everyone a very happy safe 4th of July. I remember enjoying barbecue and fireworks on the intercoastal. On the docks of the restaurant you could see fireworks overhead and all up and down the intercoastal. Then when I had Rhett my counterpart to Prissy. I stayed home to cuddle him. He hated the loud booms of the fireworks and the pops of the firecrackers. Even further back parades in downtown Indiantown. There maybe a rodeo or two in there somewhere. There were a few years in Georgia with the largest home fireworks display and huge picnic. But the best part of fireworks is the joy you see on the kids faces. Priceless!!!!

Enjoying the fireworks with children is a great family tradition. It is a time to enjoy being together.

Children will always remember.

Here is our latest shop tree. The ladies out did themselves this time. It is totally awesome.
I think we need to leave it up for a couple of months. What do you think?

Here is a picture a friend sent me. It is so Americana... and so cute.

One final picture to enjoy....

God Bless America.

See you at the shop.
