Come find a fun stamp for your next project. We have a new line of stamps in the store. The line is KantorKards. There is a pelican in a tutu with a matching stamp "I feel Pretty". Then you have a frog lounging in a bikini with a matching stamp" Yoo Hoo! ". This just a small sample.

Well I removed the cold blankets from my plants today. I'm not sure when they will have to be brought back out but hopefully not very soon. It looks as though a few did not make it this go round.

Frank fixed our light over our crop tables so we are up and running with no dark shadows on our projects.

Have a fun weekend!

Chocolate Truffles

New arrivals in the store. Artful Blogging, Where Women Create, Stampers Sampler, and Card Maker magazines. Gator paper and stickers. There is a gator patch that will adhere to caps or a scrapbook. Valentines Day is coming up, so be sure to get that paper to make those adorable pages or a card for that special someone.

The recipe this week is from Glenda and I hope I remember right.

Chocolate Truffles

1 box of cake mix of your choice (not the kind you use a pudding mix with)
1 can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand is the one Glenda used)
Almond Bark

Bake cake mix per instructions on box.
Cool cake.
Crumble cake into a bowl and pour Eagle Brand milk over cake.
Place bowl in refrigerator and completely chill.(Glenda chilled mixture over night.)
Roll cake mixture into balls.
Melt almond bark and dip balls into melted chocolate. (Glenda melted chocolate as she needed it.)
Do not refrigerate balls after dipping in chocolate mixture.
These are absolutely outrageous.

Just a quick note. This Sunday is the second Sunday and I will not be open. I will open the following Sunday. I have to go to Jacksonville for a meeting regarding the 2009 Shop Hop. Sorry this has been a conflict for our altered art group. I just received e-mail confirming our Hop meeting date this week. Sorry for all the confusion.

Blueberry-Almond Cobbler

The store will be open for shopping on Saturday but the crop tables will be taken for the private crop. Next week starts our regular class schedules. We will do our first Valentines card for our card classes. The One Hour Layout title is Christmas Blessings using 6 - 3x3 pictures and one 4x6 picture. This way you can get to see more smiling faces on your page.

Our recipe today comes from Southern Living:

Blueberry-Almond Cobbler
1 cup Reduced-fat all-purpose baking mix( They used Bisquick Heart Smart All-Purpose Baking Mix)
1/2 cup uncooked regular oats
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped toasted almonds
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup chilled light butter, cut up
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
5 cups frozen blueberries
2 Tablespoons lemon juice

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly and begins to stick together.
Combine granulated sugar and flour.
Toss together granulated sugar mixture, blueberries, and lemon juice in a medium bowl.
Transfer blueberry mixture to a lightly greased 2 qt. baking dish.
Sprinkle oat mixture evenly over blueberry mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

This is a Cooking Light Recipe and here is the breakdown. You can probably replace the sugar with Splenda or some other sweetener and cut the calories down further.

Happy New Year!
Hope you all had a safe New Year's Eve. Things were pretty quiet around the house. I could hear a little bit of fireworks going off. Mom asked me today if I watched the ball drop in Time Square. I said I watched it on the morning news shows but not live. Prissy and I had hunkered under the covers and were snoozing away.
Today has been quiet with just a few shoppers. Prissy got pretty excited a couple of times when some children came into the store. The rest of the time I have been checking in some new papers and printing some pictures.
We will head home soon and feed Mr. Pokey. He will probably be hanging over the back gate waiting on me to come out the back door.
The store is open tomorrow but there are no classes. All our Christmas paper and embellishments are on sale for 20% off. The Christmas stamps are 25% off. Saturday there is a private crop going on all day. Sunday the store will be closed but Monday is sale day.
See ya!
