Had fun at WOW on Friday. Even if it was a bit messy. I'm still scrubbing shimmer mist off my hands. Then we moved into Crop Night. Had several croppers. They lasted until 1100 p.m. Then Saturday those Cricut ladies started chirping away. They were learning their new machine, a new cartridge, or just plain having fun. Except There was someone putting together a Sponge Bob that looked frustrating. But in the end it was so cute.

Had a delicious dinner in Valdosta Saturday night with the ladies. Prissy has enjoyed those leftovers today. Then of course we did a little shopping. It was a very cozy ride for some of us. I said it reminded me of those days when a group of us would pile into a car to cruise. Am I aging myself with that word. Oh well. I am a lot older but still enjoy playing.

We will have a Sidewalk Sale on April 2nd. If you have a craft item to sell this is the day to do it. Just give me a call and to reserve your spot. We all have things in our stash that we are not using. Well, someone else might just need that particular thing for their stash. The sale will run from 7:30-11:30. Earlier if it gets too hot. So start digging out those things you would like to sell and plan to join us on Saturday, April 2nd.

Glenda's husband James has built a great bow tying stand. I wouldn't play with it yesterday in the shop but I have played with it today. You know I had to watch a video on how to use the darn thing before I did a demo for you ladies. Practice...practice... practice. It is really is very neat.

Well better get back to my laundry.

See you at the shop.

Oh So Good!

The layout is all about having fun eating a simple little cupcake. I think the icing was more enjoyable. Don't you just want to enjoy a cupcake like that.
Not to worry about getting it all over you.

Better close up and head home. Missed my little furball today. Hopefully, she has found a comfy spot to curl up and wait for me.

See you at the shop.

Guess what??? The Blitz is finished and in little bags on the tables. No digging and plundering in the bags until the card is revealed. Gotta surprise you a little. Bring your scoreboard, colored pencils, and odorless mineral spirits if you have them. Not to worry if you don't, because we have some here at the shop.

The "Tranquili-Tea and Spa" ladies will be here tomorrow. Be ready to see the great things they have to offer. Can't wait to see the goodies myself.

Had a nice surprise for lunch today. Steve, Becky, Carter, and Tate brought me lunch. Naturally the minute they arrived the shop was busy. But it was great getting some hugs and sugar.

Gotta get some rest before tomorrow. Better pack it up and get the kiddo home.

See you at the shop.

Families are Forever

Here we are into the second week of February. And of course it is Wednesday night. Oh my!!!
Layout time. Family time is always a good time. Make the most of it because you won't always have the opportunity to be together. Kids grow up and have families of their own. Work schedules vary. So jump in and enjoy one another when you can!

Well, I better finish up and get that little fur ball home.

See you at the shop.

Can you believe I finished two cards today. One for the weekly card and the other for the Blitz. Now I just have to crank out the layout tomorrow and then finish the other two Blitz cards. Love this feeling of being this far along on the Blitz.

Can you believe how warm it got today. I know we are tired of the cold, cold weather but I am not ready to crank up the AC. It looks like we will have some awesome weather for the Festival this weekend. Hopefully, it will not get too warm for those men in uniform this weekend.

Well I better search out something for my layout this week.

See you at the shop.

Blitz #1

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day today. It was a very productive day for me. I worked in the back doing some organizing. But the best was I finished one of my cards for the Card Blitz. Can you imagine. Three more to go!!!! Plus a layout and a weekly card. Oh well, I'll get there amongst the visiting and the firetruck driving. Everyday is an adventure. How lucky I am to be enjoying the adventure with all of you.

See you at the shop.

Lost

If anyone has seen my rubber embossing mat for the Cuttlebug. Please send it home. I'm still searching the madness and mayhem in back. But it is not in it's usual place. And no I did not have my name on it.

Sandie is also looking for her Tags, Bags, and Boxes Cricut cartridge.

Cool and Creamy Coconut Cake

My goodness time flies. Monday will be Valentine's Day. It just seems as though we started a new year and here it is beginning the second week of February. Had a great crew today at the Cuttlebug meeting. There were a couple of brave croppers in the mix. I was surfing up some Card Blitz ideas. Prissy was surfing for treats as usual. All in all a great day.

Today I am going to post another great Coconut Cake recipe.

love

Don't you just love to remember those good old days when you actually had less weight, fewer wrinkles, fewer gray hairs, and could stay up all hours of the night. Well the layout this week is a reminder of those days for me. Arthur and I could dance the night away and still be cranking the next morning. I can remember flying in from Los Angeles on the red eye flight. Getting home in Florida about 6:00 A.M. Spending all day decorating the house for Christmas because it was only one day away. Good Grief!!! Wish I had some of that energy now.

Better close down and get my little furball home before that rain hits.

See you at the shop.

Fresh Coconut Cake

The ladies decorated our tree for February. It has some beautiful hearts all over the limbs. This picture does not do it justice. It is sooo cute.

I missed my sleep over last night. Too many options available. Guess when things slow down we will try again.

Here is another of those wonderful Coconut Cake recipes.

Fresh Coconut Cake - Teddi Wengert

1 cup butter, room temperature
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, room temperature
3 cups cake flour
3 Teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk(room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups sugar
3 Tablespoons Light Karo Syrup
3/4 cup water
3 egg whites, room temperature
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 handful of mini-marshmallows
2 packages frozen grated coconut
1/2 can angel flake coconut

Remove fresh frozen coconut from freezer and defrost, spreading out to dry.

Cream the butter and sugar thoroughly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg is added.
Mix together flour and baking powder.
Add milk, flour, and baking powder mixture alternately, starting and ending with milk.
Add vanilla extract.
Pour batter in three greased and floured cake pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. It is done when pick comes out clean.
Place on cooling racks for 10 minutes.
Remove from pans and cool completely.

Icing:

Bring 3 cups of sugar, Karo syrup and water to a boil.
Boil until thread forms when spoon of boiling liquid is lifted and streams back into pan (230 degrees on candy thermometer).
Remove immediately.
While the sugar mixture is coming to a boil, beat 3 egg whites and a dash of cream of tarter until peaks form.
This mixture should be stiff but not dry.
Slowly pour the syrup mixture that has reached 230 degrees, into the egg whites.
Continue beating while adding the mini marshmallows one at a time.
Beat until of spreading consistency.
Stir in almond extract.
Place one layer of cake on a cake plate, inverted.
Spread first layer with ample frosting, about 3/4 cup.
Sprinkle with thawed coconut heavily and then add 1 Tablespoon more of frosting.
Repeat with second layer.
Then add third layer(not inverted) spreading frosting to completely cover cake.
Use plenty of coconut on each layer.
Hand sprinkle Angel Flake coconut on top of fresh coconut to completely cover the outside of cake.

There are still two more cake recipes to be posted. But I better pack up thelittle girl and head home.

See you at the shop.

What a lovely day we are having. I am thankful it is not snow or ice. Goodness it sure is rough for those people trying to get to the Super Bowl. It has been pretty quiet around the shop today. Prissy and I were looking for a blanket covered lounger to curl up on. Oh well gotta hang in there. Only a few more hours until my sleepover. I guess I am still having a sleepover.

If you are planning a Super Bowl party I have a great recipe for you. This is a recipe from our Monthly Cookbook ladies. There are six ladies who meet once a month to share a recipe with one another. They make the recipe. Create a page with the recipe. Then they sit and enjoy eating with one another. This group is full (6 members is the limit) but if you are interested in starting another
group please contact me here at the shop. There are a few ladies who would like to begin another group.

Philly Cheesy Chili Dip - Linda Towbridge

1 package (8 Oz.) cream cheese
1 can (15 oz.) chili (beans or no beans)
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 Tablespoons chopped cilantro (optional)

Spread cream cheese in bottom of microwaveable pie plate.
Spread chili over cream cheese then top with Cheddar cheese.
Microwave 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Sprinkle with cilantro.

Serve with taco chips, scoops or crackers.

I tasted this and it was wonderful.

Yes, I have three more Coconut Cake recipes to post. So be patient they are coming.

Guess I better get up and do something around the shop.

See you at the shop.
